Can man die before his appointed time?

The bible says that God has set the time, place, sorroundings and the number of years of man on earth, even before he was conceived (acts 17:26).

So we ask, can man still die before his appointed time?

  1. There, now I got it fixed…I think. As I was trying to say with Proverbs 10:27 – a person’s way of life can affect a person’s length of life. More often than not the choice is ours.

Sorry, I goofed. The “anonymous” was my post.

  4. Hi shematwater I think that is a very good answer and very True, how grieved God is that His little ones are being tortured and murdered in the womb.

God can indeed take life so He can also extend it, I have been saved from death 4 times now, once crossing a road, once from poisoning, twice being very close to death, Doctors cannot explain how I survived, but if you haven’t noticed I did.

That is a good question. It reminds me of the story of Hezekiah in Isaiah 38. Hezekiah is near death, and Isaiah even tells him he is going to die; but after fervent prayer by Hezekiah the Lord grants him 15 more years to live.

So, did God already know that he was going to give him these fifteen years, or was it truly an addition to what was already allotted?

This is my thought: God knows when we will die, as he has the past present and future laid before his eyes at all times. Now, exactly what this means I do not know, but I think that God has given each man so much time to live; however, a man can be killed before this time, but not without God knowing that it will happen. I do not believe he will die of natural caused before his appointed time, but I do believe he can be murdered before his appointed time, which is why murder is such a grievous sin, as it not only takes the time that God gave away from a man, but it also prevents him from using that time to repent and return to God.
